It's a tune up opponent and why that's difficult to understand by some explains why their not very in tune to the sport.
The tune up part isn't just the fight, it's the training and the spar sessions, its the mental & physical process that needs repeating after a 2 year loss!
Hopefully the opponent looks good for 6 rounds or so and Ward can step on the pedal and stop the bout via tko.

Two years is a long time to be out of the sport and it takes 2 to 3 tune up bouts to get ready for top ten competition.

Why do so many people on here ***** and moan about this guy, he's signed to fight one of the champs after this fight. Relax and stop crying!

If Ward can't get a KO he is somewhat being exposed for Kovalev, Brand is absolutely average.

Tune-up is just a B.S. excuse he's had plenty of tune-up fights yet he still looks the same like he did against Smith Jr...
It's really a boring time waster for the fans of the sport you'd never see such a pathetic act in the UFC If a fighter comes back there they will line up a challenge...
That's the whole idea of a combat sport TO BE CHALLENGED!!
Sad that some people want to make excuses for athletes a fighters career is short enough as it is we don't need these embarrassing nothing fights.

So why ***** & moan just go watch the glass jawed ufc shows and don't waste your time posting if it's something you don't like!
This is his third fight in one years time and then he fights the champ.
If you think the ufc is a better show thats ok by me, another negative sound bite is gone!

so according to ray if you want to criticise this absolute garbage opponent that is not good enough to be brought in for sparring agaisnt Ward then you should go and watch the ufc.

                fantastic logic as always mate.

Plenty of UFC athletes have good chins actually its just a lot more dangerous taking punches with such small gloves that and having a kick land flush on your jaw well... Vitali never got KOed professionally with any punch but he got put out for the count in his MMA days with one clean kick to the chops and he arguably has one of the best chin of the heavyweights of all time.

You either want to fight an opponent that will challenge you or you don't Ward has wasted an entire year and a bit with absolute bogus nothing fights and that has been entirely his own choice to do that that's not how a true competitive athlete should be treated and THIS is why so many boxers have their 0's still there.

Gone with the old days of fighters fighting the best no matter the lay off look at Ali when he returned... did he make excuses like Ward?
Nope, he just fought two very good fighters after a longer layoff than fought Frazier that's the difference between a great fighter and an excuse maker.

You just made my point about Ali and only two fights after three years!
He needed more gym time and fight time prior to taking on an Olympic Gold Champ & New Pro Champ in Joe Frazier and it showed. He didn't have what he needed in the mid rounds and late rounds.
No need to mention a Klitz as to tough guys with great chins they NEVER fought anyone near ATG status.
If Foreman hits you in the side of your head with 10oz gloves or 18oz gloves do you think one will be easier to take than the other?

Theirs "0" are because young fans today put more emphasis on an undefeated record than fans of old did. When you consider the facts that the greatest fighters ever have defeats on their records should lead the fans to understand that the "0" is usually made not earned.

Have a good time watching ufc and boxing won't miss you, bye!
