As predicted, people are jumping ship on Kovalev. They can't handle their favorite guys losing so they preemptively detach themselves.
I've been critical of Kovalev's resume, saying it's overrated, though he's a great talent regardless, and he's about to fight the best in the sport so, win or lose, he gets more credit from me than the guy who is fighting a welterweight at 160lbs.

All I gotta say is tell me the last time Ward has ever been in an entertaining fight?
Remember the past bum fodder he fought he even put on boring shows against them some Americans (not all) will protect certain dislikeable fighter no matter what I mean you want my proof look at the Mayweather fanbase the worst boxing fan base about.

Froch and Bika are ALWAYS in entertaining fights because THEY bring it unlike Ward who clinches and bores the **** out of everyone, literally everyone that's why he has no fans.
Then Dawson once again a drained Dawson came down and he was the one who tried to bring it to Ward, no credit for Ward but credit for Dawson he took a huge risk in draining his body and making himself weak when Ward is the one who should have went up for Chad not the other way around.
Ward is just a self entitled silver spoon treated boxer who has never had to deal with adversity.

Don't worry though, we've got Brook to save face

Honestly, it is because there is not anyone, beyond Andre Ward, that you can legitimately root for besides Kovalev at the top levels.
Stevenson? PLEASE.... that criminal.
Versus GGG, you actually have a HUGE amount fighters that are competing at his level... naturally, that will create more GGG haters.
ie... you don't see a lot of Lebedev haters here...? why? Because who the hell else is actually good in the cruiser weight division? lol.
Floyd, Pac, Canelo, Fury, Wlad, Joshua.... you have lots of people that love them.... and you have even bigger haters. GGG is just the latest to join that club.
Will Kovalev join that club? Likely as we get closer to November and that will draw out more xenophobes, and others who support those closer to their race or religion.
Personally, as someone participated as an amateur in martial arts... I can respect any good fight and any fighter that plays it straight. That is why I am looking forward to Kovalev vs Ward. Unfortunately, Boxing is at the cross roads where in order to get more people to tune in, you need to create more of a show.... hence why UFC is as big of a deal.... much more brutal.... blood sells.

Kovalev > GGG in skills and resume. Kovalev isn't getting atg hype while beating bums like GGG. Kovalev's team weren't like anyone from 168-200lbs and then cherry picking who they'd go up or down in weight for. If GGG wouldn't receive the hype without earning it he wouldn't have as many "haters" lol.. plus you obnoxious fanboys make people dislike him. Some of the fanboys clown on proven fighters while propping up a hype job... like saying an atg is cherry picking another champ or former champ then defending another fighter for fighting a bum. Ducking doe.
