Ward challenged GGG when GGG already had a fight date with Lemieux. Right after that Ward was injured and out of action for a long time so GGG couldn't fight him even if he had wanted to fight him. That's hardly running for the hills. Ward is fighting a 39 year old unknown fighter who fights in the weight class below Ward an is ranked 26th by Boxrec. Are you saying no 168 or 175 pound boxer better than Brand was available to fight Ward? If Ward is fighting Brand as a gift to his fans he missed the mark. I haven't read anything from Ward fans being excited about the Ward vs. Brand mismatch except for you. Ward is a great fighter and I'll always watch a great fighter in action even against a lousy fighter.
