Before they fought in early 2014, most people were complaining about this fight. They were saying it was a huge mismatch etc, but since Maidana gave a good showing suddenly he's this A level monster. Since GGG haters bring up how Lemieux got outboxed by Alcine(when he was in his early 20's), and stopped by Rubio(after dominating the fight and gassing out), let's take a look at Maidana's resume.

Before fighting Floyd, he beat a hypejob in Broner, it was Broner's second fight after jumping 2 weight classes. Broner is a C level guy at 147, he went life and death and got a SD decision against Paulie. Before Broner he fought Josesito, and Soto Karass. Note this was a JOsesito coming off a savage beating by Canelo. Maidana stopped both of these guys but the scorecards for Josesito before the stoppage was Carla Caiz 48-47, Jerry Cantu 48-47, Max DeLuca 47-48, he was down on 2 cards LOL. Rosado is far better than Josesito, and lemieux just bulldozed through him. Now let's get to the Karass card Patricia Morse Jarman 65-64, Jerry Roth 66-63, Al Lefkowitz 65-64, Maidana was winning all 3 scorecards, but BARELY.

Since the *****s bring up Alcine who lemieux lost to YEARS ago, let's bring up Alexander who he fought more recently than Alcine, and wasn't in his early 20's like Lemieux. Alexander completely shut Maidana out 10-0. Lemieux is a level above Maidana. Maidana's best wins are beating hypejobs in Ortiz and Broner who have done nothing.

Floyd has a good resume no doubt, but his resume is AWFUL compared to other ATGs. He's never fought an ATG or A level fighter in their prime.

Maidana has a case for winning the first fight, I had it a draw, but a win for Mayweather or Maidana is plausible. Just because he gave Mayweather a good fight doesnt mean he's not a C level fighter. The sad thing is he gave Mayweather a run for his money wearing pillow gloves LOL, int he second fight, Mayweather had a way easier fight because it was 2 vs 1, Bayless and Mayweather vs Maidana.

The Maidana that fought Floyd the first time was the most crazy and determined Maidana I have ever seen. I consider him the second or third best welterweight in the world that night. Floyd got a lot of wear and tear on him that night.

Some guys rise to the level of their competition. Maidana took his opportunity and gave it his all and made that fight competitive.

Fanboys like to take a sh/t on fighters, disregarding all the hard work they do. Whether it is Maidana, Lemieux, Pascal, Broner, etc etc, these are the guys who make the sport worth coming back to. In he ring they give all they have.
