Seems like a extremely winnable fight for Lemieux thats a showcase fight so not sure why he wouldn't f#ck with it unless the pay is THAT bad & with how HBO is budgeted who knows it might be a dogshtt payday so fair play to Lemieux if that is the case.

Lemieux should be pressuring GBP into setting him up with Canelo so he can really get paid for real. I always assumed GBP was signing Lemieux up as a future Canelo body, but thus far there has seemed lil to suggest that is anywhere on Lemieux's schedule with GBP.
They're talking about Lemieux vs. Kirkland. Kirkland prices himself out of fights. Kirkland isn't a MW and isnt' ranked so IDK what Lemieux is talking about when he say Stevens, who is ranked, does nothing for his career. And Lemieux doesn't have to rely on HBO. He can fight in Canada off HBO like he was going to do against La Rosa.

Kirkland is more of a name guy than Stevens. I can see the logic from Lemieux's point of view. Rankings mean **** these days outside of title shots & eliminators. I see both as equally winnable fights for Lemieux so if HBO is paying more for Kirkland than for Stevens I can see Lemieux going that way.

Obviously you do take on some risks with signing to fight Kirkland cuz he's a squirrely mfer, but then again he hasn't fought in awhile so might be broke or near broke so you might be alright cuz Kirkland's craziness & loopy behavior will simmer down in desperation for a payday.

Kirkland isn't a middleweight. Lemieux says in the tweet Stevens does nothing for his career. WTH does Kirkland do? Another highlight KO over a JMW who was KO'd in his last fight. Saunders is fighting Rosado over Stevens. Tuerano Johnson lost to Stevens and won't give him a rematch. If those three aren't fighting each other or GGG or Jacobs, Stevens is the next best fight. People acting like Stevens didn't give GGG some rounds. Lemieux quit against GGG. Saunders won't fight him. Johnson came up with a mysterious injury.

Doesn't own property? What kind of diss is that? Is he a 1700s plantation owner?

Lemieux and some other guys are now in the Canelo sweepstakes. They don't want a risky fight with Stevens as he is dangerous.

Lemieux's logic is he beat the guys Stevens could not beat, so he sees it as taking a step back.

Neither is Kell Brook or Amir Khan. Fighting non-MW's at MW is all the rage these days. And Kirkland hasn't fought in awhile so who knows what division he's in now.

And Lemieux is obviously being dramatic or inflammatory in his responses as people tend to do when discussing **** in 140 characters or even in general outside of twitter. Obviously a Stevens W does something for Lemieux's career, but I do tend to think Kirkland is the more name guy so Kirkland does more regardless of his weight.

Yep. That's exactly what it is. All three of these guys are angling for the Canelo fight. BJS in December and Lemieux in May. So in the meantime we have to sit thru **** matchups like we have to do for Ward vs. Kovalev.

That is exactly it. Meanwhile Stevens is on the outside looking in. What bugs me about his situation it he sits doing call outs on twitter constantly, but I don't believe main events(Kathy Duva) is doing anything to keep him active. So here we have a guy wanting to fight, and seems forced to try to do it himself.

Lemuiex has a weak chin, that's why he'll duck Stevens. Stevens sleeps him.

They sent him to fight Rosado in BKB. They should be offering Johnson a fight on the Ward vs. Kovalev undercard. Or Matt Korobov. Money isn't the only reason fighters go with Haymon. If you want to fight he'll keep you busy.
