Depends on how he wins. But in case if Ward wins clearly without dirty tricks, then he would be P4P#1 in my book.

Ward tried to play it off like he wanted the fight when he offered a fight when GGG was already booked for Lemieux, and was promised the winner of Canelo/Cotto. Why the hell would GGG agree to this offer? Ward wanted nothing to do with Golovkin. He settled for the easier more one dimensional boxer in Kovalev.
I would give Ward all the credit in the world. King Kov is only second p4p behind Golovkin on my list, I expect Kovalev to beat ward badly physically whether it's a stoppage or not.

I would have to rank Ward the pkp king if he won, even though I consider Golovkin the more complete fighter, and Ward is a complete fighter, but that's just how highly I think of GGG and that's without a marquee win on his resume.

I would give him full credit for beating a great fighter. Getting old overnight is a myth that doesn't happen. Kovalev had an off night with a guy that had a style that troubled him. He is still the mighty Kovalev and I still expect him to beat Ward. If Ward wins he gets full credit from me and might go to pound for pound number 1 if he looks good enough.

Even though I don't like his style that would put him at Number 1 P4P

I would give him 110% credit. I like both fighters so it'll be hard for me regardless. I know we'll get an interesting fight out of them.

We need to see this fight before any of this talk. If Ward does a Kessler or Froch on him then full credit to the guy but Kovalev is on the next level compared to those previous opponents of Ward. Don't take too much from the Chilemba fight btw, Sergey's homecoming, that specific venue, etc. and just give credit to Chilemba too he made a good effort and made it look difficult for him, etc.

awful in his last ifght? that was the best tune up opponent in the world for an an andre ward fight! chilemba's not an awful fighter.

he fought a very solid fighter with a good chin and with a style upon which it's not easy to land power.

The 10 main points of my article:

                      1. Ward was supposed to win, but still struggled, I had it 115-113 for Ward (gave Kovalev every round he landed 1 power punch in, which was 5 rounds)
                      2. Kovalev is closer to 40 years old than he is to 20 years old
                      3. Ward waited for Kovalev to become old, should fight guys his own age
                      4. Prime Kovalev beats Ward. Prime Kovalev starts at 2013 and ends in 2016. Basically all the way up to the fight was signed, that was when Kovalev's prime ended
                      5. Ward ran, didn't engage
                      6. Chilemba softened Kovalev up
                      7. Ward looked bigger, about 200lbs on fight night, HBO lying about his fight night weight to protect the slick brother
                      8. I lied about their being 10 main points in the article

this is exactly how it went down!
