If anybody ducked it was GGG.Originally posted by j0zef View PostNo offense, but how on earth does Liam Smith make up for Khan? Smith is ranked 17th (!!!) by boxrec, and his best wins are random dudes you've never even heard of who aren't even in top50/100 in the division. You can argue that Smith is borderline Top10 SWW, but that's as far as you can go.
Plus Canelo will once again have a huge weight advantage over an opponent. This fight is possibly more of a farce than Khanelo was.

Canelo has to weigh in at the same 154 that Smith weighs so where is his huge weight advantage? Canelo isn't a super hero in a comic book with the mystical power to weigh in at 154 and enter the ring at 187 pounds as Khan falsely accused him of doing. A weigh gain of 33 pounds or even 25 pounds in 30 hours would kill or ruin any boxer, Canelo included. Canelo will probably be about 170 on fight night the same as Smith. I have never seen or read of any actual factual evidence of Canelo weighing more than 172 on fight night. That is not an unusual fight night weight for the bigger 154 pounders.
Are you kidding me? Are you seriously gonna pretend that Canelo doesn't rehydrate insane amounts to always have a huge weight advantage? Canelo was in upper 160s when he was 21 year old kid fighting at 150. Here's an example - 167 in 2012.
He was 174 vs. Angulo in early 2014.
This is not a 30 year old man who has reached his prime. He's only 26, his rehydration weights have been steadily going up. You can absolutely bank on him being between 175-180 on fight night.
Fighters generally don't rehydrate 20+ lbs. Smith wont. He'll gain ~8-10 lbs like every other normal fighter. Canelo will weight 10 lbs more than him.

It was target practice against a washed-up fighter....big deal.
Ouma was shot to hell and gave GGG his toughest fight to date.

Brooks by wide UD. Golovkin will win a few rounds that Brooks takes off. However, it's nothing to write home about when Brooks wins. Just another domestic club fighter under his belt.
