Or he could retire. None of those fights sound interesting to me. I have no interest in seeing Cotto fight anyone if I have to pay for it.

Roc Sports also tried to do business with Andrade which kept him on the shelf for almost 2 years. So put Banner on that list also.
So Andrade and Algieri and Willie Monroe are out of the picture.

So his options are down to ...

        Andy Lee
        Billy J Saunders
        Chris Eubank Jr.
        Curtis Stevens
Brandon Rios (free agent right now)
        James Kirkland

Would you buy a PPV for any of those fights?

I only watch Cotto fight to see him lose and run to the dressing room like a spoilt child. He's so far up his own arse you could use him as a wheel.

They ruined ties with Top Rank when they signed Cotto in the first place.

And they screwed up their relationship with Golden Boy by haggling over insignificant amounts of money from the Canelo-Cotto fight.

Unless, they can get a Canelo rematch, they are absolutely screwed financially, no matter what Cotto does next. And with a huge guarantee out there for Cotto to do at least one more fight with Roc Nation, there is no way he retires.
              What Jay-Z beef?

Cotto/Thurman would be awesome. However Cotto rejected a fight with Brook at 154 in the US, so I doubt he'd accept Thurman.

“That would have been the perfect, perfect fight,” Hearn said to ******.com. “HBO loved the fight and I spoke to Roc Nation and they said we don’t want to fight Kell Brook. And I don’t blame them because Kell Brook hasn’t got the name in the U.S. yet, and it’s too much risk for Miguel Cotto. There’s easier guys for Cotto to fight with bigger profiles in the U.S., so that fight never made sense to Cotto.”

Miguel Cotto, in final fight with Roc Nation, is said to be happy with Jay Z
                      Mitch Abramson
                      August 2, 2016

Miguel Cotto has one fight remaining on his contract with Roc Nation, which is expected to take place in December at a venue in South Florida. Officials are said to be close to announcing some details, such as a possible opponent, by the end of the week.

Since signing a lucrative deal with Roc Nation in March of 2015, Cotto has fought just twice, destroying Daniel Geale in four rounds last June and losing a competitive decision to Canelo Alvarez in November. Still, despite the lack of activity, Cotto’s close friend Bryan Perez, who helps run Miguel Cotto Promotions, said the boxer is very happy with Roc Nation, and though he wouldn’t come out and say it, his rosy outlook suggests Cotto will likely continue his affiliation with Jay Z’s agency.

“We have a great relationship with Roc Nation,” Perez told ******.com. “We’re very happy with everything. We will see what’s in the future after this fight. We’ll sit down and talk and go over it. We’re very happy with the relationship we have established and we’ll work on it after the fight. It’s Miguel’s decision and his vision but I want to say he feels very happy with Roc Nation and the way they have handled everything, so we’ll see what happens.”

The subject of Cotto’s next fight has been an unending stream of rumor and speculation. Cotto, 35, was angling to return this summer but couldn’t find a suitable opponent. Now, he’s playing the opponent game once again with Juan Manuel Marquez and even Brandon Rios surfacing as possible candidates only for those talks to collapse. Perez said progress has been made on that front and he could have more news by Friday.

“We’re just waiting on Roc Nation to give us the latest update,” Perez said. “Miguel is looking to come back in the fall. We should have more news by the end of this week but he’s excited to be back and is ready for the next challenge. All I can say is Miguel will be back in the fall. That’s the plan.”

With Cotto (40-5, 33 knockouts) fighting just once this year, Perez was asked if the former four-division champion hopes to be more active in 2017. As normally is the case when it comes to Cotto, Perez played things close to the vest. “We always work fight to fight so I cannot tell you a plan for 2017,” he said. “But we’ll definitely search for the biggest opportunity that is presented to Miguel.”
