What happened to the Pacquiao from Oscar-cotto?

I mean dude was a straight killer in those fights, insane speed and every shot was full on venom

Then after the cotto fight dude just wasn't the same no more. Still very quick but not as much and his power vanished and he become just a fairly heavy handed guy

It's like he was a different fighter in that oscar-hatyon cotto run

That's why I'm always baffled as to why people always credit Margarito for ending Pacquiao's prime. It wasn't Margarito, at all. Pacquiao was already different by then.

In actuality, it was Cotto who ended Pacquiao's prime; Cotto even destroyed Pacquiao's ear drum. Sure, the fight was mostly one-sided, due to Miguel being drained, but being hit by him for 12 rounds is no joke.

But I guess since the Cotto fight is considered a dominating performance on behalf of Pacquiao, no one wants to give credit where it's due.

And, honestly, you know why I think it did away with Pacquiao? Because he was too good for his own good in that fight.

It's like what one of the Mayweathers was saying; how Pacquiao's head would snap back like crazy every time Cotto hit him, but he wouldn't even be dazed.

As outlandish as the Mayweathers are, I agree that Ariza's shakes played a huge factor in that fight, to the point of even working against Pacquiao's longevity by making him too good.

You play with fire, you get burned.

          Cotto didn't have a trainer

De La Hoya was zombie mode

Manny was still impressive but that definitely had something to do with how good he looked, his opponents weren't at their best

Pacquaio stopped taking his vitamins (PEDS) after the Cotto fight. He hasn't been the same fighter since he got off the PEDS.

He isn't as weak and puny as you are making him out to be even many years after his prime. He just got through winning a one sided fighter over Bradley including two knockdowns of the rugged Bradley. He is the only fighter ever to defeat Bradley. He put up a good fight against the great Mayweather winning 4 of the 12 rounds on the official judge's score cards. He was thoroughly tested for any peds before each of those fights. Clearly he doesn't need peds to fight well and there is no proof he ever used steroids. It's unreasonable to expect a guy in his mid 30s to fight as well or punch as hard as he did in his late 20s. Smaller boxers usually get old faster than heavier boxers and Pacquiao was in so many wars. Mosley said Pacquiao was one of the hardest punchers he ever fought and he fought him many years after the Cotto fight.

Manny showcased his skills in situations were he was set up for ultimate success. Hatton, De La Hoya, Cotto, & Margarito were all compromised fighters. The fighters that I've listed were vulnerable and defeated before ever stepping into the with Manny but it was their choice and they made loads of money for the beating they absorbed.

No Peds my man, styles make fights. IMO, Morales & Mayweather each convincingly out boxed Pacman. Marquez and Bradley were durable boxers who each respectively won rounds against Pacman.

Manny is an exciting fighter who loves to engage in fan friendly fights. His southpaw stance, hand & foot speed, & stamina were all wrong for guys like Hatton and Cotto and you add the catch weight clause you handicap guys.

Morales had enough in the tank to during their first match but compromised himself out of the second fight. Barrera probably underestimated a young hungry Pacman.

Look what happen to Bradley's ankles, the guy moved so much during the first fight he tore ligaments and tendons just trying to give Pacquiao different looks.

Pacquiao vs Danny Garcia has legacy written all over it.
