spence has been poorly publicized / promoted in my opinion. that's where you really see the lack of a single netowrk backing affecting a fighter. those networks can contribute a lot to the promotion of a young fighter. HBO and showtime are great storytellers with great production budgets. PBC can be a f#cking nightmare, and a genuinely pathetic broadcast, when it's not on showtime or CBS.

i have to flip around to find out what f#cking channels he was on, and i don't get spike TV, etc.


it's tough to build a kid's brand while also teaching him to box pro, but when he's got power it can be done properly. and spence has power. i really think they were trying to get spence rounds when he fought algieri. guy went the distance with khan, ruslan, and manny f#cking pacquiao. then spence took it to him from the opening bell and knocked him out without a ton of fuss.\



so to answer your question: spence has been moved well to help him learn to box, but poorly to position him as the guy who may very well be p4p one day.

he's definitely not a prospect any more. he's a top 10 welterweight. beat algieri more convincingly than pacquiao and khan. heck, khan had problems with algieri.
