Comments Thread For: Leo Santa Cruz-Carl Frampton - Examining The Scorecards

I agree with Dibella with Frampton edging rounds at 6-5-1. I had Frampton winning the 1st 5 with the 6th tied. I had Leo winning 5 of the last 6 and a slightly more faded/fading Frampton winning 1 round on pure determination and pulling out the fight. Lastly, the rounds were close but the rounds that Frampton won were won a bit more clearly than the ones Leo won. Good boy this Frampton!

People seem to think that close rounds should be shared equally and that's not the case.
If you think fighter A did a bit more in each round you give him every round don't you ?
So 9-3 isn't unreasonable if it was 5-2 with 5 close rounds.

I had it a draw, but not disappointed in the decison. Those were some tough rounds to judge, but I agree with Paulie, Frampton's shots seem to be more powerful. Definitely worth a rematch! I hope Russell Jr. vs. Selby comes next, with winner facing Frampton, and loser facing LSC! Rigo needs to come to 126!

I had Frampton winning 115-113. I thought the 117-111 score was too much but I could see how a judge could give close rounds to Frampton

Anywhere from 10-2 Frampton to 7-5 Santa Cruz was apparently viable.

While I had it a draw and would accept any score card that was close, someone needs to explain how a professional boxing judge had a champion that threw many more punches, landed more punches, and was the aggressor at least 80% of the fight only won 3 rounds.
