Oquendo/Ortiz would be a fun one while it lasts. And the upside... we'd finally be rid of Oquendo.

Oh man the WBA just gets worse and worse. How on earth is Oquendo in line for another shot (just checked WBA rankings, he's currently at 4)?

He's been inactive for 2 years & his last fight was a loss. He's also 43 years old.

Having got into boxing around or just after he was at his peak, I've just had a look at his record. Whilst he's ducked nobody and fought many top guys, he did lose to them all. There wasn't one 'good' win on there. I guess his fans would say he gave the top guys close fights, fair enough, but that's the past.

Surely no-one in their right mind would have him in the top 50 heavyweights at this point.

Oquendo went full on ****** in his pursuit of chasing Chagaev through the courts, the WBA has literally no choice but to mandate this cheesed1ck. Look Ortiz aint getting a crack at the full title any time soon, he may as well bury the corpse of Oquendo in the mean time, hell he's doing the boxing world a favour, besides their is still time for him to disappear himself yet, which lets be honest he probably will, you really think he'll fancy getting in their with this gorilla ? Dude is playing ball with killas now, Chagaev was a creme puff.

Haha. Oh yeah I remember hearing about the court case now. What a joke.

Some might say in light of faded Chagaev's retirement, if Oquendo now has to get in with an Ortiz / Parker or the like for the WBA and take a smashing (which he would), he has been "Hoist by one's own ******" :-)

Oquendo has one of two options, face Ortiz and earn a final pay cheque or turn out in one of those movies Yusuf Mack made, my guess is he'll likely make a movie or two a la Mack. I very much doubt he fights Ortiz.

Russian has been fighting 4 a long time mayb he will stay retired ...but Fres, how can WBA rank him #1, he doesn't deserve to be number 10 in the weakest division in boxing...

LMAO. I still can't believe Oquendo is in this position. I have absolutely no desire to ever see him fight again, but if Ortiz can end him once and for all it will be worth it. And I know Chagaev has kinda been a caricature of himself the last few years, but he was a pretty good fighter once upon a time. Enjoy retirement you fat bastard!
