I thought Juanma retired. He was fun to watch in his prime. It's a shame he never lived up to his full potential, he fell in love with his power and relied on it too much. Those two fights with Salido beat the prime right out of him.
Juanma was so punch drunk after fighting Salido that he blamed the referree's ******** problems for losing the second fight.
I remember watching that at the time and thinking 'dude, just stop talking' !
Fight is happening because Juanma is promoting some natural supplement company wouldn't be surprised if Vazquez is also part of that same company. Juan has been training since early this year but he still has looked big in the pictures i've seen.
Agree with most of the posts here about this being a great fight several years ago. Now, it makes me cringe to think of Lopez taking more punishment - even from a shopworn Vazquez. JuanMa doesn't sound too good in interviews and the way he has responded to being hit in recent losses doesn't bode well for his future. He had talent, power and heart but that kept the fact he was physically fragile when taking punishment obscured for a while. A shame because for a short time he was one of the most exciting fighters in the sport.
please boxing gods make it happen!! i've wanted this fight for the longest!! just for fun! anyone saw the video a few years back where wilfredo ranted about juanma??
YES...YES...YES...YES... Finally!!!!
Vamo arriba Papito
Only a Puertorrican knows how we have all been waiting for this!!!!
I will happily pay to see this!!! These are 2 high action fighters who genuinley dislike each other very strongly. I'm definitely pulling for Papito.. I met him in person and he was a very nice and very patient kid with all his Mexican boxing fans when he fought Donaire. Alot of the Mexicans in attendance, including myself, lustily booed the decision in Donaire's favor because this kid won our hearts over with his dynamic and beautiful personality.
