I too thought Pernell won that fight....but we can go on for years on controversial decisions like that or robberies. Bradley Pacquiao 1...
Ali vs. Liston 2....isn't it obvious?

Phantom Punch. Did you not know that, or just wanted to know my opinion?

Floyd doesn't need JMM's glory. He beat both Pac and Marquez. But what Floyd fans do like to point out is that Floyd was never knocked into outerspace. And that wasn't because of running or hugging. It's because of his skill-level and chin. Don't know how it can be argued otherwise.

Two grown men fighting over a large hotdog??? lol. You went a bit too far there :P
you have to admit the thread is an "if" situation.....between pac, crawford and floyd...

for all its worth, what nacho said is just an aside...his opinion on the pac vs floyd fight...or non- fight if one can dare call it like that...

but still, that is stepping out of line on the "if" situational topic of the thread that covers, let me say again, pac, crawford and floyd.......

if the very big hot dog is a bit too far, kindly remember buddy that the hot dog was from the baseball bat......

i have to admit my bad for not including the bottle of ketchup kenny held tightly to his chest....

it was an anchor punch to the temple...are you saying the punch never happen? Ive heard all about the gossip on the phantom punch. its a 50/50 belief between people who wants to tear Liston down or build Ali up...A punch did land...The question is could Liston get up and continue or did he dive the fight...Was he hurt or not...Very controversial

Yea. There's been movies about it (one even called Phantom Punch, I believe) and many theories about it. Some claimed Liston dived at the request of the Mafia. Some claim Ali was screaming at him to get up because he knew the punch didn't connect well, and he knew Liston was taking a dive.

            Definitely controversial, I'd say.

Nobody on earth thought Bruno had a chance...so ill answer it for you. So being that Tyson was hurt and ultimately was the reason Bruno got a shot in that ended the night, fans around the world would have seen and knew that had Tyson not got hurt it would have or may have been a different story....Whats that say to you? No matter how you look at it...it created controversy in the win and loss for both fighters. The fans are gonna want to see a rematch.

note: for the ******s unable to provide common sense...the Tyson Bruno example was hypothetically speaking.
there is nothing really controversial in your example up there.....

the outcome of the fight was diminished as one fighter had an injury....that affected his performance.....but that's all there is to it....no controversy there....

              injuries do happen......in sports....

would you say the laker's loss to another nba team was controversial because kobe was injured?

there was even rumors that the black ******s was holding his wife and kids hostage. That would would probabbly rank right up there next to Roy at the Olympics of being the biggest crock of shlt in boxing

no of course not. There are other teammates on the court. Boxing is only two...Bad example .

"that affected his performance"...Thats right. Had it been a injury that Floyd caused, that would be a different story. But this was a injury that was re-injured from his training camp that did cause his performance to diminish and sadly changed the course of the fight. So fighting a an with one good arm isnt controversial to you.

How do you know Floyd didn't cause the injury? Maybe he blocked a shot? Made him miss? Punched him in the shoulder? Made him react to try to block a punch?

Again, what about Pac/Bradley? If Bradley had issues with his calves at some point in the past, would that make it a controversial win for Pacquaio?

                      you miss the point entirely.....

                      injuries happen in sports.....

saying a win is controversial because one fighter was injured has no real basis....

it is just a view...a perception......

our differing views on this topic prove that....

the meat is why would the result of a fight be deemed controversial because of an injury to one fighter? again, injuries do happen so many ways, so many times....yes, it is an awful event that affects the fight outcome....but to attach controversy to an event that is common place or very likely to happen is a stretch....

one can not be be happy or satisfied with the fight outcome...and may demand for a rematch because one's view or perception of a different desired outcome if the injury did not happen is strong....

but that is again going through another "what if"....

what if no fighter was injured?

a sure win for one fighter? i don't think so....

the word upset came into being because....upsets do exist...do happen..
