Andre Ward fans, I want to ask you guys a sincere question. Do you understand now why the rest of us are afraid Ward will duck the Kovalev fight?

He literally says, "if I don't beat Brand, there's no fight down the road between me and Kovalev."

I mean if he's really planning to fight him in November, why can't he just say if he doesn't beat Brand, "there's no fight in November between me and Kovalev"? The fact he keeps saying "down the road" when it's supposed to happen in November specifically makes it seem like he's trying to muddy the waters so he can push the fight back.

Can you guys understand why we're worried about that now, given what's been happening boxing lately? Whenever fighters don't give specific, direct answers, whenever they try to muddy the waters, that's almost always led to ducks and delays the last few years in boxing. So can you understand why we're worried about that happening again, when it always happens these days, and when Ward keeps using the same unspecific answers that have been used by other fighters to duck the last few years? Always saying "down the road" instead of "next" or using the specific date (November)? It's really worrying me because we've seen this happen so many times.
