  • Comments Thread For: Loeffler on GGG-Brook: The Best at 147 Facing The Best at 160

Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions regards Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) as the best fighter in the welterweight division. Brook, who captured the IBF welterweight crown in 2014 with a decision win over Shawn Porter, is moving up by thirteen pounds to challenge Loeffler's star fighter, IBF/IBO/WBC/WBA middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

After this we should see "the best at 160 facing the best at 175" then, but we won't.

DeGale can get next if he wants it. K2's now on record saying they'll accept the fight for the same deal they got for Brook. It's on James to call their bluff and make it happen with rumors his November fight vs Jack falling apart. The fans should be clamoring for a DeGale/Golovkin fight now, putting pressure on Hearns & Loeffler.

So when Golovkin says he'll fight someone it's on the opponent to make the fight, when Lara says he'll fight Golovkin it's on Lara. Golovkin does nothing to make them happen?

I'm saying it's on both sides to make a fight. But it'd be nice if DeGale would give some kind of response to K2 saying they would've fought him instead of Brook. Only thing he's said so far is he's pulling for Brook.

K2 should be pushing hard for DeGale next if his fight with Jack falls through. That's a badly needed validation fight for Golovkin. James gave an interview in June saying he'd fight Golovkin, but that he needed to fight Jack first.

You know very well by now politics have been blocking Lara/Golovkin - DiBella's on record with that, so drop that ****. Your completely daft if you think Golovkin's scared of Lara, that's an easy fight.

Disgraceful SOB... K2 & Lil G deserve all the criticism that's coming their way. Defending 4 Middleweight belts against a welterweight is a bigger joke than Garcia/Salka. Lil G is a piece of **** who doesn't deserve a P4P ranking. Even Chocolatito showing this bum how real champs do it by moving up instead of picking on smaller dudes

Why would anyone believe what Team GGG hasd to say? One minute they aren't interested in moving up, the next they'll do it for certain fights or catchweights. One minute all they care about is belts and unifying, the next they're acting like divas. The act is growing tired, judging by the commentary on boards everywhere.
