The punch barely hit even after watching the replay at 0.25 speed you clearly see the punch isnt a clean hit in slow motion when your hit cleanly the face get deformed by the power in the punch which is not the case here. only reason he fell was because he was off balance from moving back which also take of power from a punch.Comment

That's fine if you wanna keep thinking it. The punch landed on the base of the neck, near the ear/some of the base of the head. And he never protested the call. We'll see soon enough if he can be dropped... again. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say yes he will.

Say what? Also since i was there i remember in post fight interview he said that knockdown pissed him off and wanted to destroy him in second round
Fight fans familiar with his work weren’t at all surprised when Artur Beterbiev knocked down Jeff Page Jr. three times in the second round before referee Jean-Guy Brousseau stopped their Dec. 19 bout in Quebec City, Canada. Watching the unbeaten Russian light heavyweight hit the canvas toward the end of the first round raised some eyebrows, though. While Page’s right hand didn’t appear to land flush on Beterbiev’s chin and Beterbiev was moving backward when he went down, that marked the first time Beterbiev suffered a knockdown as a pro or amateur. He responded about as well as his handlers could’ve hoped from that flash knockdown. The fast-rising contender got right to his feet just as the first round was coming to an end and floored the previously unbeaten Page (16-1, 10 KOs) three times in the next round on his way to a knockout victory.
EDIT : Even boxingscene admited it wasn't a flush hitLast edited by iNixus; 08-02-2016, 03:53 AM.Comment

Like I said friend, you can argue til the cows come home. Won't matter when he's dropped by the 1st serious threat in the ring.Say what? Also since i was there i remember in post fight interview he said that knockdown pissed him off and wanted to destroy him in second round

Beterbiev is the only LHW ranked top 4 in all 4 sanctioned organizations... His path though was always to stay away from Stevenson and go for Kovalev Belts first ( can't blame GYM for that
)... Beterbiev injury slowed things down a bit, but all is good for a new Champ next year ...
GYM is also setting up a Gala in the fall for Beterbiev, so who knows ? Alvarez vs Stevenson is something that has to happen from a WBC point of view. Alvarez earned it and so be it... Not a "big" fight in book... Smith vs Beterbiev could be interesting since Fonfara doesn't want Beterbiev's name to be pronounced around him anyway... Smith has a legit lucky shot, but remember that he wouldn't have survived the round one hits he got against Fonfara coming from Artur ...
I have no clue where you got your Jurgen Brähmer thing...Last edited by Superbee; 08-03-2016, 10:33 AM.Comment
