Strategy wise- What Did Crawford do technically, to beat Postol?

Postol does seem one dimensional. I knows how to stick jab and he can put punches together when he get into his rhythm. What did he do to break that rhythm?

I think this could be a revealing look into technical boxing and how to overcome a tall, rangy guy who sticks with the jab from the outside.

    Purely technical here.

Crawford moved around and used a lot of feints and made Postol come to him. Whenever Postol got overconfident and over-extended himself or lost focus, Crawford checked his ass with hard fast shots from angles and Postol's legs were gone. Postol never recovered his composure.

      Moving but not running

Used lateral movement and popped Postol on the angles

Was relaxed early and jabbed and straights to the body to slow Postol

Timed him after a few rounds and proceeded to carve him up

Counters made Postol gun shy, and while he was the aggressor coming forward, he never let his hands go after eating crawford's counters..

      Masterclass performance by crawford

Didn't let him set his feet. Postol rarely felt comfortable throwing and when he did, but made his counters count. Culmination of those two things made Postol shut down in later rounds.

Add far as learning from it goes, Crawford's power, footwork, speed, stamina, and reflexes played a big part. You can't just expect to move around and have it work against a great jabber.

He was just trying to catch him walking in, nothing special, same thing u do to plodders just let them follow u and try to make them run into punches. Dumb ass postol wasnt cutting off the ring he was just following him around. I don't even know if Crawford was that good or postol was just that bad. I know postol looked clumsy on his feet though

Switched to southpaw to completely neutralize his jab by crossing thier "sword hands" together constantly. Used lateral movement going to Postol's left and kept winning the "foot war" and could counter with a right hook or jab when he'd get a reaction from Postol's lead hand. He was also in perfect position to counter Postol's right hand, which he was so reluctant to throw because he's use to setting it up with a jab which was gone as stated.

Pretty much what everyone above said. He used his legs to nullify Postol's jab and workrate. Postol couldn't throw without being set. And even when he was set, he was hesitant and took too long.

I wanna see Crawford fight a good pressure fighter like Granados or an ambush fighter like Pacman, Gomez, Felix Diaz.

Some good observations above, I think one of the things which hasn't been mentioned and I noticed was particularly effective, was Crawford's ability to punch on the fly. Meaning he was hitting Postol whilst moving his feet, even if those shots were sometimes flicking punches, it was really important in the fight because its something Postol couldn't do, and in fact a lot of fighters can't do. Crawford would often unleash punches at the moment he would change direction of his movement, Postol was getting hit by these punches all night.

He used lateral movement to not allow Postol to set his feet

He fought southpaw to discourage Postal from throwing his jab

His movement made Postol have to come forward which negated his height and reach advantage

Postol is slow and constantly got beat to the punch and was running into traps all night
