The truly great fighters defy that argument. Crawford might be that special. As of now I'm not sure.

No. Not in my opinion. Crawford scored a great win and he is one hell of a 140 pounder. Canelo is a big 154 pounder and on most top pound for pound lists and he is a fast boxer with a big punch in both hands. Mayweather was a strong full sized welterweight when he outboxed a somewhat drained 152 pound Canelo a few years ago. Canelo has improve a lot since then. He has wins over fast, skilled 154 pound boxers Trout, Lara and Cotto. Crawford isn't going to box his ears off. Crawford was staggered a few times by little Gamboa. The first time Canelo lands a full power bomb on the much smaller Crawford's chin it will be the start of the end for Crawford. Crawford may be the best 140 pound fighter in the world but I don't think he can jump up 14 pounds and beat Canelo. Let him fight Thurman or Spence and see how that goes before you throw him in with a top 154 pounder who can box and punch. I know it's Canelo hating season for many on this board now because he didn't fight GGG but like it or not Canelo is a very good fighter. So many are complaining about Brook jumping up 13 pounds to fight GGG and your asking Crawford to jump up 14 pounds to fight Canelo.

Theres weight classes for a reason, hes too small. But if they were the same size then yeah crawford would murk him.

Good post. Too much, too early for Crawford.

Well he's only at 140. I can't see it at this point. Lots of skills and talent, but Canelo has skills and talent, too as well as plenty of top level experience. Have to go with Canelo.

I'm a Crawford fan, but Canelo hurts him IMO.
