That was a master class clean boxing that I've seen in a long time. He picked Postol apart. He danced and circled around. Took his time, and dissected a game Postol. Crawford was faster and his footwork was phenomenal. Postol couldn't touch him. Crawford was simply a better boxer all around.
This was not a boring fight like how some say Crawford ran all night. This was a clinic. Crawford was just in first gear the whole night. Postol couldn't catch him, Postol couldn't hurt him, Postol was 2-3 steps slower than Crawford. What Crawford did was great boxing. No clinching, He circled, fired with accuracy, and did enough to win. It wasn't Crawford's fault that Postol couldn't make it into a brawl. He was just too slow. I can see Crawford turn it up another gear and fight more intense if the need arises, but he didn't have to. He was just a class better than Postol all around. (to my surprise! I really thought this was a 50/50 fight)
This was to showcase that he really is the real deal. He fought like a boxer in control. Very methodical and tactical in his attacks. A very dangerous smart boxer.
That said, If Pacquiao will be his next opponent @ 140. This definitely is a must watch fight. Pac the vet vs the next big star. The thing is at this stage in Pac's career,he has slowed down and could be the right time for Crawford to outspeed him even if a 38 year old Pac @ 140 Pac will be faster than when he was @ 147.This will be a risky fight for Pac to take, and I have a feeling if Pac can't match Crawford's speed and he get's old overnight. Crawford will finish him off, but If pac can match his speed or even Out speed Crawford even @ 38 years old. Pac will destroy Crawford. Meaning, if this fight happens. I huge question mark will be asked. What kind of Pacquiao will show up?
This is a dangerous fight for Pacquiao, but that's been Pac's career taking all comers. This is a fight that Pac doesn't need in this stage of his career. But if he does take it, win, lose or draw, this will definitely be a PPV worthy fight to see.
Oh, and I can see that knowing Crawford does engage when pressed and Pac does push him to trade. There will be fireworks. They'll be in good exchanges that whoever gets caught will go down. A must see fight indeed.
And knowing Crawford is the next big star in boxing. I hate to say it, but if the fight ends up close, The winner will be Crawford. The next big star in boxing.
