      Not true. Like in any other field, there are those people who are good at their job because they are innovative and can think for themselves and on their feet, BUT there are also those who are good because they are very good and following instructions and executing what their told to perfection.

      In that respect, some fighters will obviously be more reliant on the trainer because they can't think for themselves or innovate on their own, but if you tell em what to do they will execute it to perfection, in exactly the way you imagined it in your own head when you told him.

      This where the trainer can take the blame for not being able to read the fight and give the proper instructions.
