Wilder should have ended it quickly just to give it a huge spike in the ratings. Instead, he pretended it's a competitive fight.
Arreola almost won, he just needed to break Wilder's other hand with his nose, it was holding up fine. He didn't realize the damage he had inflicted. Wilder is a good actor, he hid the pain well.

We need more Thurman vs Porter type of fights. That one did good numbers. Guys, it's simple. Put on competitive, meaningful fights, and the numbers will follow. We've seen it time and time again. This fight was a mismatch because Wilder wasn't even supposed to fight fatty boy Arreola. He was a replacement on short notice. These numbers were gonna bomb, why act surprised?

That`s extremely disappointing. In the way samller Germany even medicore fight nights reach over 2 Million viewers and Klitschko fights more than 10 Million. Guess the PBC concept will soon implode.

When did 10pm on a Saturday night become prime time? The actual fight didn't start until AFTER the allotted 2 hour program was off. The undercard fights took too long. If you turned the channel to the program to see two heavyweight fighters, you would not have seen it. That could definitely be a factor.

Now, could you imagine GGG on a free network like that? After 10-15 consecutive knockouts, even the casuals would be flocking to watch as if he was Tyson. Especially if they showed how all these boxers are ducking him......living legend right there.

PBC just has terrible marketing across the board.

If that had been Klitsckho vs. Fury part 1. America would of never watched boxing ever again.

Don't the numbers usually increase after a few days, and everything is counted?
Plus those shows he was competing against are watched by old retired people. Wilder just needs the right opponent like Thurman had. People are quick to mention GGG, but he is like 5 years older than Wilder who has limited amateur experience. That is the difference between Boxing and the UFC, even when they have a bad card the media in MMA doesn't tear it down and make you not want to watch. This was a pretty good card, and the main event was really for casual fans.
