salido is up there in age already, been in many wars since his fight with lomachenko,,, i think its too soon to put him in there with lomachenko,,,i would say maybe january, salido at his age his body needs to rest and be ready after fights with rocky and varfas really take something out of him, oct seems too soon,

This is a very simple pick. Salido has added more wear and tear and age and Lom has obviously improved and adapted to the pro's since his second pro fight. And I doubt the ref would let Salido punch low with abundance in the rematch. Based on those shifting tides, Lom clearly wins the rematch.

I agree with everyone that thinks Loma will take advantage of Salido's aging and win in dominant fashion.

Hopefully, this will set up a Walters fight next.

loma would have won an immediate rematch. he'll dominate salido now. still, i think it'll be good to remove that stain from his young legacy

hopefully he can get a 3rd fight this year too

So where are those idiotic threads that say Lomachenko would duck a Salido rematch?

With all the extra stuff that happen in the first fight, Loma has kinda gotten a pass on the L he took. I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other on whether he deserves the pass. Either way, I think winning a rematch is important for him personally. Any real competitor wants to avenge a loss, whether they deserved the loss or not. I read where Joe Louis said he didn't consider himself the real champ until he avenged the loss to Schmeling. The Loma-Salido deal has some similarities.

On another note, I'm torn on whether I want Loma to stick around in the exciting jr lightweight division. Or, keep moving up the scales, like he's talked about, and move closer to a superfight with Crawford.

GREAT FIGHT. Salido deserves this big fight after his performance of the year! Loma has to redeem himself with a victory this time.
