Dont you think if you claim you are the best you are held to a much higher standard and closer scrutiny of your grandstanding words?
you can claim to be what you want...Ali said he was the greatest of all time before he accomplished anything

its up to the opponents to shut them up or prove them wrong.

Fighters shouldnt be scrutinized for believing in themselves when that self belief is what got them where they are in the first place....the ring is the lonely place in all of sports and the sanctum of truth

He proved he was the best because he doesnt need a million rematches on his ledger to establish his superiority

he had no rival in his era and won every fight clearly outside of Castillo 1....if he isnt TBE, he definitely is top 10 or 20 all time.

Corrales, Hatton and castillo will make the hall and should...they all were the best of their era at their respective weight, all were exciting and beat good comp.

lesser fighters are in the hall

you know people try to downplay who he beat after the fact but before they happened he was scared or them or was going to lose

just seem like a bunch of bitter, people disappointed they didnt get to see him lose....oh well

he lost to jose luis castillo
couldnt do **** to a one armed past prime already ko'd multiple times pacquiao
almost got KTFO by old ass 1 year and half inactive shane mosley going on 40.

        get real.

        he is a manufactured legend.

had the easiest road to greatness compared to other legends like pacquiao who went through the hard way, the man way.. (babied and padded by the notorious one, Bob Arum of Top Rank, lol at least when pacquiao went to top rank he was already a legend having taking on multiple legends lol at floyd being babied and padded by top rank, lol that explains him never beating a prime great).

I think he will be remembered as a great fighter and a hard trainer who was a world champion for a huge amount of time. He never lost a fight and he beat many champions. He was very consistent due to his hard preparation for every fight. He didn't have bad nights like other greats who showed up in poor shape sometimes. I thought Castillo beat him slightly in the first fight but he had an injured shoulder and he beat Castillo convincingly in the rematch. He was a world champ at 21 and retired a world champ at 38.

you are smoking some good meth

How was floyd babied when he won his first title at 21....18 fights in and fought half of his fights in world title fights, mostly lineal and also defeated over 20 former world champions

it must really hurt not seeing him lose by now

almost doesnt count in boxing, nor are their morale victories....there was no almost to the knockout losses on Pacquaio's record....the last time was scary...JMM put him in a deep sleep, he proabably saw Buddha

you sound like someone whose upset that you didnt get to see him lose

fights are scored round by round...I scored that fight many times and its either a draw or 7-5 to either guy...he did the right thing, gave an immediate rematch and clearly beat Castillo

He'll be remembered as a great fighter, one of the best defensive fighters in boxing.

Was arguably the best fight of his generation which was very lacking in quality and in an era that was drowning in PED's which he was su****ious of using.

A business first type fighter, meaning taking on a lesser accomplished fighter who brings in more money over the more dangerous accomplished fighter who paid less.

Ranks maybe as high as 20th all time, nothing higher. Which is a great ranking considering the era he was in.

                    Well said.

I always said that Mayweather is like the Tim Duncan of boxing: his true greatness lies in his ability to sustain a higher level of CONSISTENT excellence through his understanding and application of skill and 'fundamentals' of his sport over an extended length of time.

                      genius floyd fans logic lol
Clearly you don't know **** about boxing like most Pacquiao fans. Did you know Oscar also used an IV before his fight with Pacquiao? The only reason the press didn't make a fuss about it is because USADA wasn't involved, but fighters have been using IV's to rehydrate for decades. But you probably didnt know that.

And Bayless would favor Floyd because they are both black?? That kind of idiotic statement is the epitome of racism. Both teams agreed to have Bayless be the ref you dumb ****.
