Comments Thread For: Canelo: I Know What Smith Brings To The Table, I'll Be Ready!

On Monday, sweet science superstar Canelo Alvarez said his sole focus was discarding his next opponent rather than his critics, who have accused one of the world's most popular boxing figures of talking out of both sides of his mouth.

I'm Mexican, but When it comes to Donald trump saying "Mexico doesn't send their best" we obviously didn't this time. Because if he indeed WAS the best, he wouldn't have relinquished the belt. It's a sad, sad day for Mexican sports fans, Oscar has it all twisted, he's becoming Floyd mayweathers business model and Mexicans will NOT fall for that. Good luck.

these guys have mirror image styles.
        should be a good one.
Canelo is really a super middle weight so he should be too big too strong

Careful Canelo the red Mex only wants safe sure fights to win

Canelo is being matched carefully in only fights that are now sure wins. Avoiding the GGG's and Andrade and the Charlo's makes Canelo safe. Soft touches like Liam Smith are sure wins for the can-yellow red Mex burro. Si'?

Mexicans born and raised in Mexico dont consider Mexicans those born in the US. since they seldom know **** or identify with our culture. 5 de Mayo for instance isn't an observed holiday in Mexico. Im a Mexican, actually one that knows a little boxing. One that understands how the boxing business works, and know that 5 pounds at the scale could make a huge difference. Big enough to prevent GGG from actually making the fight with Canelo happen. The ball was on his side of the court, and said no to fighting below 160.

The ball was in Canelo's court. He said after the fight he'd fight him at 160. It's on video. GGGs team would've negotiated weight once he got the title. It was Canelo's team that chose not to make the fight happen.

That is wrong. Canelo clearly stated that this match was for pride and glory, putting the titles aside. The translator, didn't do a good job (as usual).

After Canelo's statement it was all GGG to have him get in the ring with him. Too bad he chickened out and choose to challange "the great" Brooks.
