Comments Thread For: Canelo Promises Fireworks, Vows To Go All Out Against Smith

Many boxing fans do not like it, but come September 17, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will be challenging Liam Smith for the WBO junior middleweight title. The 12 round bout will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex., Golden Boy Promotions made the official announcement Monday morning. The consensus from those who follow the sport is that Alvarez should be fighting unbeaten middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

He really hasn't gone all out, ever... So if there's another gear he promises to deliver I'm curious to see what it is. Unless he just blowing the typical boxer pre fight smoke, like the rest of the boxers do.

I wish he said that if he was fighting triple G. Canelo is a counter puncher so he won't go all out as he says

This guy is really about to find out how big a superstar he isn't. I would've thought that the ppv vs khan bombing was indicator enough but apparently he's going to need a bigger reality check. This fight will do horrid ppv #s guaranteed.

600k PPV buys is bombing now? Sold more PPV's his last fight then both Manny or Floyd did in each of their last fights. And 4X the PPVs of GGG

Pretty sure that's it. He doesn't do anything different in any of his fights.

Of course he’ll promise fireworks against Smith… he wants to divert attention away form the real story. It must be difficult to have your cowardice exposed so publicly.
