Basically Andre took two years off and Roach thinks he should get more rounds in before getting in with Kovalev. He didn't say that he has no chance against him, he's saying he will do better with more fights.

Before Manny had freddie Roach as a trainer, he has been a mutch lesser and more one-dimensional fighter. Roach improved Manny a lot people tend to forget that. He also improved Cotto again even though he lost to Canelo. Other fighters improved as well at the wild card.
Roach makes some delusional comments sometimes but you still have to respect the man and remeber his parkinson has become pretty bad.

Roach can say what he wants, it's not gonna change my opinion as to who I think will win. I'm picking Ward. Ward/Hunter would not have signed on for this fight if they did not feel Ward would be ready. Look, Kovalev has a lot of things he needs to work on to be ready for Ward. Ward just needs to work on his timing. IMO Kovalev needs to KO Ward to win and Ward needs to out quick and box Kovalev's ears off to win. To me Ward has a better chance of out boxing Kovalev than Kovalev has of KO'ing Ward.

Oh ok. I could not remember who was in Norris's corner when he fought SRL and I don't recall any of his fights prior to that one. I'm sure I saw a few but it's hard to remember every fight, that many years ago.
