What Makes GGG-Canelo a Mega Fight?

Why do you think people want to see these two boxers of our generation fight so bad and is it because lacking of other big fight opputunities?

Do people believe these two guys have exceptional boxing skills to make a great fight? What is the reason some people anticipate this fight like they did May-Pac?

Do we really want to see it so much really?

From racial perspective, is there any chance white skinned people want to see their two boxing heroes fight and that's the main fuel of the fight?

Apparently you need 2 legends to make a mega fight; since when and for what reason these two are considered as legends?

its not a mega fight in my opinion, a mega fight should be pretty much 50/50, pick em fight, like ward/kovalev. The bookies should have ggg a very clear favourite over ducknelo.

      Race baiting thread

It would have been a good fight but it's not gonna happen now. Canelo vacated his belt to fight an English tea salesman and it's time to move on.

It's not a megafight anymore because Canelo is no longer a champion at middleweight.

If he proves himself to be the best at 154, unifies belts and then moves up to 160, then it's a megafight again. Till then it's not.

Sadly, it would sell like one with all the notoriety surrounding the build up...in 5 more years

I don't think it is, we know Golovkin isn't ppv.

White skinned heroes...you need to get bashed for making such statement and hope others posters will do.

Canelo and GGG don't have the same fans at all.

GGG's fans call nelo a pussI, and Nels fans call GGG a bum beater.
Yet the link between both is their race...coming from a racist like you, it's not surprising.

I'm not suprised to see your top fav fighters, pretty much racially oriented...
with the exception of Marquez because he was Pacquiao's rival LOL

Regarding the question, the answer is pretty much obvious.

"Legends" nobody talked about a legendary fight btw boxing legends.

But it was mega fight because we had 2 stars and 2 P4P list fighters in the same division.

              P4P lists:

Boxrec has Nelo #1 and GGG #3.

Ring Mag has Nelo #8, GGG #3 again.

GGG is one of the rare lineal, unified champion in the world along with Fury and Kov.
Also one of the rare fighters world champion as an amateur and a as pro in the world.

Nelo has wins over Trout, Cotto and Lara wich could be argued as better wins than Froch and Kessler (shout out to Ward).

Pretty much every fight Golovkin is involved from now on is a mega fight. He just sold out the o2 in 11 minutes!! ELEVEN ****ING MINUTES!!! His first PPV ever against a guy almost unknow to the casuals drew 150.000 buys and generated 9 million $!! In November or December this year he will have his second HBO PPV against Jacobs, which will be a blockbuster. I think an estimation of 400k buys is very conservative. Afterwards, PPV clashes against Eubank Jr. and Saunders in the UK are next. Golovkin might even steal Candiva's Cinco de Mayo date in 2017 and fight Ramirez. Of course, the Mexicans will tune in for the Kazakh Emporor, since they are already losing interest for Princess Canelita!!

I just asked if race was a factor in this fight, because it is not a secret boxing is dominated by blacks and latinos who look like latinos.
Order of my fav. fighters' names has nothing to do with my being racist, I also know it looks absurd but I can't find a slick non-african guy to add there, believe me I tried lol.

It's not anymore. Canelo ducked his way out of it.
