HAVENT REALLY SEEN COTTO THROW TO THE BODY , BUT I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO CHECK HIM OUT ... BUT COME ON MAN , IF YOU KNOW SHANE LIKE I DO ... MORE THAN HALF HIS KNOCKOUTS CAME FROM DAMAGING BODY BLOWS...
HE HURTS JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY HE FIGHTS TO THE BODY...

No offense but if you haven't seen Cotto hit to the body you haven't seen him fight at all. "Machotime" posted a clip of his professional debut just today. Go take a peak & see for yourself.
Everyone has pretty much been covered multiple times, but a couple of guys who only got a mention or two need more love.
James Toney being the first. He's a very good body puncher when he gets to your body, and he sets up a lot of his attack by throwing downstairs. Anybody see John Ruiz' body after their fight? His ribcage was badly busted up from right and left hooks down there.
Another guy who was mentioned I think was De La Hoya. I thought he was a pretty damned good body puncher when he wanted to be. He was savagely busting up Gatti's body with those right/left combos down there. His body punching and jabs to the body were great against Vargas too. His primary weapon to try and fend off Sturm was body punching too.
And yes...Cotto is a devastating body puncher. When he rips those left hooks downstairs its sickening. I haven't seen someone damage another fighters body so bad with body punches in a long time (except for Castillo destroying Corrales' body in their first fight).
