In Mexican culture, we still rdicule cowards like Floyd and his brothas. Real machos like Vazquez, Margarito et al, donīt care to lose an eye. Mexicans play with death, puto.

Seriously, this is sad news indeed. Dude is losing his eye because he entertained us. What Lou Cipher said is true.

really nice gesture from the WBC. sounds like they're throwing old doctors under the bus a bit.

vazquez was a great, exciting fighter. and a bleeder. a career like that stays with you long after you retire.

dayyum izzie...this one one of my favorites in high school/college....he is one of the underrated champions of his era...People forget about his series with Oscar Larios...I knew nothing good would come from all those cuts...the guy literally bleed in each of his final fights.

Im glad he will still be able to live a somewhat normal life....people dont look at the things these guys sacrifice.....WAR IZZIE VAZQUEZ!!!!

Saw 2 of the Vazquez-Marquez fights live, and I am not feeling good about it right now.

I'm a boxing fan through and through. I'll watch any fight, any time and support any man or woman that steps into the squared circle. Not all fans are complete asswipes. I'm usually the first one at a small event to go congratulate the losing fighter on his hard work and tell him to keep grinding.

Cool well most people here are about as useful to Boxing, or society for that matter, as the last dump I took.

All good. On a side note, if you're in the Syracuse area, you should go check out Lawrence Gabriel at the Holiday Inn on July 30th. He's an outstanding young man and I wish him all the best in his boxing career.
