BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--Still three months shy of his 21st birthday, Erickson Lubin cruised to a Sweet 16 in the win column.

The unbeaten blue chip prospect had little difficulty in racking up a unanimous decision win over Ivan Montero in their Fox-televised swing bout Saturday evening at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

Scores were 60-54 across the board for Lubin (16-0, 11KOs), who picked up his second win within the past four weeks.

I was not impressed with Ruben at all.. if he does not grow physically as he moves up in weight he is going to have serious trouble with bigger fighters....he has a terrible tendency to fall in with his h unless all the major Fighters are going to be on hold for 5 years and they just nurse feed this guy , I don't see how he will b a champion...

My first time seeing him but he was very composed for such a young guy. I think he'll do big things, seems his team has no issues with matching him up competitively and moving him along at a fast pace. Looks like he has a very good attitude as well.....possibly the kind of kid that could one day be a real role model for others trying to become professionals.

The only thing I don't like: his corner pushes him for KOs! KOs come or they don't! When you go looking for them, it could be very dangerous!

              This kid is a stud.

Don't remember seeing him losing a round.

The kid looked good against a guy with a good chin and a desire to make the fight ugly when he realized he was being outclassed. He is just a puppy, but he definitely earned me as a fan.
