Why TF is wilder getting 1.4mil to fight a guy anyone would have a chance of KO-ing at the bus station. Also no way 150k is worth if for Arreola his take home is only going to be 70-75k for what most likely will give him brain damage in 20yrs. Arreola just had another child and being a shot fighter at 35 he knows his paydays are over. He is desperate and needs cash he couldnt even afford to be at the weigh in,in person
Purses for today wtf

All the more reason why he should be trying to cash out...not take short money.I'm sure Arreola just wanted the opportunity at another title shot, and he probably knew it was his last chance at one. That alone is worth it to a guy like him. Face it, he's 35 years old and has had some tough losses and not really relevant anymore. He knew this was likely his last shot at winning a title.
Guys like Broner, Garcia, they are still young and think plenty more opportunities will come there way. They still think they can get Miguel Cotto and Canelo type money.Comment

Sure, if that's all he wanted was money and didn't care about fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a heavyweight champion. Like I said, he surely knew this was his last shot at a title so he took it.
It's easy for fans to say someone should pass on world championship because of money because most of us have no idea the long physical and emotional struggle a boxing career is, especially chasing a title and always coming up short. He literally cried after losing to Klitschko, it's obviously important to him and he's repeatedly said he wanted to become the first Mexican American heavyweight champion, it's about pride and fulfilment.
You have to remember he's never been champion. It's not like in lower weight classes where it's almost comical how easy it's become to win titles. It's a lot harder at Heavyweight if you aren't one of the elite or get extremely lucky like Charles Martin.

Yep there aren't divisions to move up or down(especially if you are a big heavyweight). Arreola was always a borderline talent to win a belt, but if he was lucky and ran into a Charles Martin type he could have been champion. Charles Martin is going to be the gold standard of winning the lottery in boxing......Comment

Haha exactly. Martin was champ for less than three months after winning the vacant title due to his opponent suffering a knee injury lol.Yep there aren't divisions to move up or down(especially if you are a big heavyweight). Arreola has no money at all based on the interview I saw before the Stiverne fights. He thought he was going to have some superstar championship career and make big $ because he's a latino HW, started buying everyone cars and ****. Has zero now.Why TF is wilder getting 1.4mil to fight a guy anyone would have a chance of KO-ing at the bus station.
