A monthly subscription to HBO is more than PPV fights in the UK.
wow, so an entire month of 24 hours a day of premium content, exclusive series, commercial free movies, documentaries, etc costs more than a single one-time 3-hour show?

who would have thought........
But they charge 3x's as much for a 3-hour show. And offer a 3-hour show on PPV which should be a part of the monthly subscription. And their budget for a cancelled show that ran one season was 3x's as much as their whole boxing budget. And with the money they've invested in Simmons show, salary, and website, they could've put on 20 boxing shows. They've made bad decisions and boxing has taken the hit. That's why I have no sympathy for their budget issues. When you can pay Simmons reportedly $5-$7 mil a year. And spend $100 mil for a show you cancelled after the first season, that's horrible. I've been a loyal subscriber for 9 almost entirely for boxing.
We also have a "TV tax". Franchise fee, regulatory fee, FCC fee. Also monthly rental for the boxes. You don't look at your cable/satellite bill?
It's the same anywhere, I'd assume.
You have to pay to be able to watch TV, you have to pay for a box from whatever company you choose, etc...
A monthly subscription to Sky Sports also costs more than a PPV.
The absolute basic package for Sky TV is about £30 per month and that's without movies, sky sports or any of the other decent channels...a good TV bundle from Sky runs anywhere from £60-100 ($100-170) per month. It's only right that the PPV's are priced decently.

Can you buy the PPV if you don't have a monthly sub to Sky Tv or Sky Sports? If Sky TV doesn't have movies or Sports what does it have?
