This is the kind of fight us hardcore fans have to make a success if we want to see more like it. If we let it fail, good luck getting the two best fighters in a division together on any consistent basis.

We have to give promoters reasons to put these fights together.

I don't because I like Crawford and I'd like to see him do well but as a fan I wouldn't mind it bombing because we shouldn't be paying for fights like this when HBO will pay for Kovalev-Chilemba and Ward-Brand and GGG-Wade type fights instead..

If this fight bombs, boxing fails. No way they'll even bother making these types of fights again. They can't keep on losing money.

I feel you, I am going to order this fight but I wish I didnt have to. HBO is on some funny business right now, I think they are banking on Kovalev vs. Ward pulling big#'s but its still a high risk so they dont want to invest in anything else.

You have clear #1 and #2 in the division, both undefeated, fighting for a unified championship.

Arum is hopking for only 75K PPVs to break even. If a fight this good can't get 100K, then the sport is ran by casuals.
When you combine Postol/Crawford's LWW resumes, this is the lineage they've created: Matthysse, Dulorme, Lundy, Aydin, Jean, Beltran, Prescott. While most will agree that this is #1 vs #2 match-up, the lineage can be (and hopefully will become) stronger.

As for it being PPV, I feel like the main event fighters are being sabotaged a bit. Postol has been on HBO only twice in his career, while Crawford has been on HBO since 2013. HBO will try to gauge Crawford's PPV potential with this match-up, but it might've been the wrong one or the wrong time. As others have stated, the event's success probably won't be greatly dependent on PPV #'s, but I'm sure that HBO would love for Crawford to win and become their next superstar.

How come this bout isn't in Nebraska? If you want to give this bout a good chance of attracting fans, it would make sense to put it in Crawford's backyard.

Dude you don't get it. Read before you post. Of course on regular HBO it gets a mil views. But who's paying for it?? It's not HBO Hence the ppv

I for one have HBO. So I get to watch it for free the week after. However I usually end up ordering the ppv cause I'm a boxing basshead. I can't wait a week.
