If hardcore fans won't pay it, then it's destined for doom. Because people aren't paying for Canelo or GGG nor Pacquiao fights, now they want people to pony up money for this, poketz iz tite son.

Bad decision to have this on PPV. What I've been hearing is the reason why is to help subsidize the purses of Crawford and Postol. What other route could HBO or the promoters have gone outside of PPV?

A great fight but not really ppv worthy. Most people don't know either.

The fight isn't on ppv to make $.

The fight is on ppv to cover the cost of the fight. There is a big difference. These guys aren't making PAC/Floyd money, so don't need big ppv numbers to cover the cost.

Hbo is being very strict with their budget, and now that top rank doesn't have a ppv super star anymore, they don't have the leverage to demand over payment for fights like Crawford/Postol.

Both Haymon and top rank are looking at very different business landscape without their ppv stars.

Networks overpaid for other fights because Floyd/Pac could make up for the cost. Without those guys, Showtime/hbo have ALL the leverage.

Why do think Haymon is suddenly putting so many bigger fights on Showtime instead of PBC? he knows PBC is going to die, and he wants to make sure Showtime is happy with him in the future, especially after their plummeting boxing ratings.

Because without Floyd, his leverage is greatly diminished.

Be lucky to break 70-80k buys. ****** move on HBO's part to have this be TC's first PPV fight.

Man, I really thought he was gonna be next for Manny, bit of course, too big of a risk for Manny, and not enough of a reward.

We don't know how much money Crawford demanded in this fight. Obviously, HBO couldn't afford it, which is why it's on PPV. And I don't think Crawford would accept $1.5 million in a risky fight like this when he was given $1.2 mil in the Lundy fight.

For people who complain about fighters not getting what they want, now is your chance to put your money where your mouth is. Buy tickets or the PPV.

I don't think it's going to bomb. The purses are low and the break even point is low.

But then again, most of NSB is too idiotic to understand those concepts. To them, all PPVs must do 500k or it's a complete bomb and the world is ending. Exhibit A right here.

What are the purses? I'm guessing total of 2 million or a little more for just the main event...

In bomb I mean like 50,000 buys or less. I hope more but this is even a stretch for hardcore a to pay for a fight that should be on HBO...
