Eubank pulled out in the last second, you rather have GGG sitting out until December?

Man you make so many ****ing valid points. You have Wilder fighting a fat out of shape punching bag who only really won ONE fight out of his last SIX.
How do you think GGG starts new negotiations with some random MW when the date is in 8 weeks? How do you think HBO with their limited budget will even pay for a MW with no name?
You realize that fighting Brook opens the UK market and puts pressure on Eubank, Saunders, DeGale etc?Comment

Well to be fair, they are forced to settle most of the time. They obviously wanted Canelo/Saunders/Eubank/Jacobs but you can't force guys to fight, even with mandatories, and after they realized they couldn't get any of these guys, they settled. This is what I don't understand about ggg or his team. They settle. Regardless of what they have their eyes set on to start looking for opponents, it seems like they always settle for whatever falls on their lap. Regardless of the calibre of the opponent it might be. As far as backlash goes, I have no idea why they would think that when they were on a mission to discredit the "disrespect to boxing" that Canelo made while choosing khan.
They obviously liked the UK deal Hearn had in place for Eubank, so they took it when they just switched the name to Brook. I think K2 fell in love with the contract/money/UK market and not the opponent. That's where K2 messed up.
Those fights would mean more for sure, since they are middleweights. Problem is no one knows who they are, so it's no different than Dominic Wade really. They wanted a big fight if not a significant fight, hearn offered them a pretty big name as far as the boxing world goes. Problem obviously is he's two weight classes lower!Heiland would be better but nothing to go crazy over. Tureano a little better than Heiland. I don't get it, I guess they might really be only wanting that big fight that seems to avoid them. I still think sticking to a MW, top 1-3 tier would be better than brook, but that's just me. Maybe a Khurtsidize fight would've been nice but who knows. It's just a very pointless fight to make. Especially at his state and what his talent shows us.
It's not a good look for K2 and now the pressure is really on them to make a big/significant fight after Brook. Imagine after Brook they have to settle again for Heiland or Johnson. People will just say, "oh they are back to fighting bums again". They have to get Canelo/Saunders/Jacobs or 168 pounds next, that's the bottom line, anything less will look really bad. They put themselves in this position by accepting a welterweight as a challenge, so that's on them.Comment

they did not have to fight kell brook.
they accepted terms for a eubank deal, and then eubank's dad went and made outrageous demands to eddie hearn.
so hearn went to brook with the same terms golovkin accepted! they didn't have to fight a WW, but they did.
the detractors of teh world would continue doing the same thing they've always been doing, which is ignore that golovkin is being ducked, and crap on the middleweight opponent that they ended up fighting because of the ducks. but fighting a WW is still awful.Comment

You would probably be the first one making up twenty threads about how crap his opponent is if he got any one else. Hell, people here were calling Eubank a bum. Seems like nothing will make you lot happier other than GGG moving up 15 pounds and getting his ass kicked. Not happening though, he is MW for good.Comment
Nice try.
