What's the difference between a war and a run-of-the-mill tough fight?

    Ali-Frazier 3, war

    Garcia-Herrera, tough fight

    Trinidad-Vargas, war

    De La Hoya-Quartey, tough fight

    Castillo-Corrales, war

What characteristics make a war different than a regular tough fight?

So fights like Barrera-Morales, right? Those dudes were really going at it. Your description really makes sense because a fight like Broner-Maidana is on the fence for me. It was a war for Broner but just a tough fight for El Chino. What are some fights you like that are wars?
