  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin Coach: If Canelo Didn't Talk All That ****, He'd Get a Pass

Abel Sanchez, who trains WBC/WBA/IBF/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs), believes Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33KOs) has only himself to blame for the backlash he's receiving from the fans.

Kind of like saying I'm ready for anyone from 154 to 168 but then fight a 147 pound boxer.

Abel should follow his own advice and worry about his fighters instead every other boxer.

New publicist? Last time I checked, Canelo was the A side to Golovkin.

          Look who's talking.
After signing to fight Kell Brook I don't think they should talk too much.
Kell is not even a cash cow. How do you justify that *****?

No one wants to fight at 160? PLEASE...

So Trip and his team shouldn't get a free pass on all the shtick they talked about who they'd fight. Especially Sanchez since he has been writing checks that Trip can't cash or Loeffler won't let him try to cash. 154-168 they said.

I totally agree with Abel Sanchez! Canelo should've never said all that BS in the ring after the fight. What he should've said was "155 or no fight." That being said, if K2 never said "154-168," "GGG not business man,"GGG would get a pass for fighting a WW.

Thank God for Sanchez and NSB editors spinning one interview into 2 dozen sound bites. If it wasn't for Sanchez, Arum, Malignaggi and Hearn there'd just be half of the posts on this site.

I disagree with Sanchez. This didn't start with the talking in the ring, but with inheriting Cotto's mandatory to WBC and then playing games. Canelo should have either not pay the fee like Cotto, or should have dropped the WBC belt immediately after he beat Cotto.

Something as simple as "I do not think I'm a MW yet and have no interest in fighting in this division. We'll revisit this after I become a full fledged MW".
That is all he had to say in November of 2015.

Lol, I just did a spit take seeing Sanchez saying that sort of thing. What a toxic windbag.
