...Kell Brook has admitted that it is very difficult for him to make welterweight....so basically he had outgrown it.....Sugar Ray did the same when he challenged Hagler....Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya moved up in weight to fight Bernard Hopkins at middleweight......Ray Leonard, Ray Robinson, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran all moved up to fight at middleweight......kudos to Kell Brook to dare to be great......I don't believe Kell Brook will win simply because GGG may be one of the greatest middleweights in history......

Well said! If Brook had beaten the likes of Thomas Hearns and Roberto Duran before fighting GGG, we would give him a chance, but Jo Jo Dan, Frankie Gavin, and Kevin Bizier, are nowhere near that level, in fact neither is Shawn Porter. There is no comparison between Brook and Leonard, and to even mention their names in the same sentence is very disrespectful! The Leonard/Hagler comparison doesn't hold up under inspection. Leonard's 3 yr layoff made it impossible for him to make Welterweight again and Hagler was THE most lucrative opponent for Leonard.
There's a reason that Leonard's last Welterweight was in 1982, five years before he faced Hagler at Midddleweight and there's also a reason that Leonard never fought at 147 again after beating Hagler.
No real comparison between current Welterweight Champion Kell Brook moving up 2 weight divisions to face current Middleweight Champion Gennady Golovkin.
Also please stop with the Sugar Ray Robinson and Jake LaMotta comparison. Brook is no SRR and Golovkin is no LaMotta. More importantly, Robinson had already beaten LaMotta 4 times before he took his Middleweight Title in the "St Valentines Day Massacre" on Feb 14, 1951 and Robinson had already been fighting comfortably at about 155 pounds in at least 3 fights before beating LaMotta.Comment

Stop the madness. Brook was in negotiations to defend his 147 pound title and unify 147 pound titles against Vargas before accepting the Golovkin fight....Kell Brook has admitted that it is very difficult for him to make welterweight....so basically he had outgrown it.....Sugar Ray did the same when he challenged Hagler....Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya moved up in weight to fight Bernard Hopkins at middleweight......Ray Leonard, Ray Robinson, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran all moved up to fight at middleweight......kudos to Kell Brook to dare to be great......I don't believe Kell Brook will win simply because GGG may be one of the greatest middleweights in history......
De La Hoya and Trinidad were Jr Middleweight and Middleweight world champions before getting in the ring with Bernard Hopkins at Middleweight.
Leonard, Hearns and Duran had all won Jr Middleweight (154) world titles before fighting for a Middleweight (160) title.
Ray Robinson beat LaMotta 4 times and had numerous fights above Welterweight before taking LaMotta's Middleweight title.
Let's keep it real. Brook has not accomplished any of that so the comparisons cannot apply.Comment

If prior achievements were the only important considerations to getting a fight Balboa would never have got a shot at Creed.
(Obviously just putting this out there for fun)

One of the greatest middleweights in history? What win made him that....Kell Brook has admitted that it is very difficult for him to make welterweight....so basically he had outgrown it.....Sugar Ray did the same when he challenged Hagler....Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya moved up in weight to fight Bernard Hopkins at middleweight......Ray Leonard, Ray Robinson, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran all moved up to fight at middleweight......kudos to Kell Brook to dare to be great......I don't believe Kell Brook will win simply because GGG may be one of the greatest middleweights in history......Comment

Makes you wonder why all these huge MW's who are even bigger than GGG, like Jermall Charlo and Demetrius Andrade don't have the balls and keep draining themselves to avoid GGG. An UK fighter, the best at 147 does it and the fight gets hated on, pathetic these boxing "fans".
Brook has more courage than most everyone and it is a dangerous fight for GGG. Oddmakers have this fight closer than Eubank or Saunders.Comment

No big name ready to fight.
Zurdo Injury
Badou Jack and James DeGale in unification talks, most likely coming at the end of the year.
Pretty clear that GGG would fight at 168 if a good name/fighter is ready and not having ridiculous demands or even bringing good money, like DeGale in the future, or even Callum Smith and Gilberto Ramirez.
Still GGG only needs one belt at 160 and we are very close to having a unified champions with all the belts at one of the most prestigious weightclasses, would be kinda ****** to pass up on this.Comment
