Just saw the Kovalev fight. Observations.

    A couple of observations.

1)This fight was an 8-4 9-3 fight plus the knock down. Lol at anyone thinking Chilemba won.

2)Chilemba is a tough man with a very good jab. Tough man, not many at light-heavyweight could take the shots he took in the 6,7,and 12 round.

3)Kovalev should incorporate his left hook more in his offense. It's a punch that works for him when he has the confidence to use it.

4)Kovalev clearly didn't train that well for this fight. I've never seen his stamina as off as it was in this fight.

    5) I still pick Kovalev to TKO Ward. Even a guy with a jab and a chin like Chilemba's couldn't stop Kovalev from hitting him and hurting him.

    That's all.

People are overrating Chilemba's jab and defense, Miranda landed 32% of his power punches on this guy. He also landed 52% of his power punches on Miranda, no power. I also watched his fight with Alvarez, Alvarez easily won the battle of the jabs, nailed him repeatedly with hard left hooks over and over again. I'm surprised Kovalev didn't Ko him since those are his strengths, especially as he's coming off a tough loss, Alvarez had him off balance and holding on quite a bit.

I think that in this fight Kovalev understood that he was the one to make a show. So this made him to attack more when he could more easily fight with a bit of counterpunching. He could wait for Chilemba's attacks but he knew that in that case the fight would become ugly.

        Kovalev loses to ward tonight.

You never know though because kovalev has the power to stop anyone. And he has the skill to deliver the power.. ward might be more technical than chilemba but chilemba has a better chin
