can boxing be fixed in 2017?

or is it going to remain the broken, stale, mismatch after mismatch sport that we force ourselves to watch at this point?

can richard schaefer and Ringstar Promotions help fix boxing?

As long as HBO is on its current path they will continue to present boxing as a circus.
two of their MWs fighting WWs in back to back fights? I just hope they don't get someone killed in the process.

no we haven't dude. stop pretending that canned tuna you're eating is caviar. this sport is going downhill FAST. it's barely tolerable at this point.

i have to force myself to even stream PPV's these days.

Ok buddy you sound so hard done by being forced to stream PPVs and watch a sport you Appearantly don't enjoy

l think its been a good summer enough to keep me interested and entertained with at least 1 -3 fights I'm interested in every week , since like March there's been almost a couple decent to good fights every week

This week fans have Crawford / Postol , Next week Santa Cruz/ Frampton, Mikey Garcia return , Stevenson / Williams

We just had Thurman/ Porter , Salido/ Vargas

Last week we've had Kovalev, Wilder, ,Diaz / Vasquez , Lipinets, King Tug , Devenchenko & Lubin ( who fought a month before that) showcases

This summer there's also been Loma / Martinez , Anthony Joshua just fought , Groves /Murray , Verdejo showcase , Molina upsetting Ruslan , Smith upsetting Fonfara , Payno / Warren rematch and probably much more good fights that I'm forgetting

in a span of 6 weeks we have 3 fights where the best are fighting the best in their division Porter/Thirman , Postol/Crawford & LSC /Frampton

What are you expecting. What do you feel you deserve as a fan , how can this not be up to your standards , How is this schedule unwatchable

I think the money has to go down for that to happen which seems to be happening. HBO's budget is shrinking and the PBC can hold out for a while, but it's budget is only so big as well.

When these guys aren't getting paid a million dollars to fight chumps, things will change. Until then, we're stuck with the mess.

In an interview, Roberto Duran said it was way easier now for guys to get paid a lot of money. This is probably a good sign of the difference between the 80s and what we have today. May-Pac was the biggest gate ever, but with poor results. The same thing happened with lots of BIG fights. They pay these guys so much that they don't put everything into it. I know. Why SHOULD'T they be paid a lot to fight? The risk is huge. And it is. But I don't know. It's an observation. When the money is ridiculous, the fights will be as well.
