Why cant a fighter move up two weight without being lambasted? Duran did it with SRL & I never see anyone slamming those two.. LHW's Andre Ward & Kovalev pursuing a fight with Golovkin at a later date wouldn't be lambasted would they? I doubt it..

    -Adrien Broner v Paulie Maliggnaggi
    -Stanley Ketchel v Jack Johnson
-Manny Pacquiao v Oscar De La Hoya
    -Henry Armstrong v Barney Ross
-Manny Pacquiao v Oscar De La Hoya
-Amir Khan v Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez

They all did it too! Man Hopkins was a career MW so I guess anyone who fought him after Taylor is a coward right? Monzon, Hagler, Hopkins & Martinez all had a former WW (or lower) in there top 2 or 3 wins! Fact! So STFU.. You don't like, it don't watch! Simples..

I also read the other day that GGG shouldn't be fighting Brook he should be fighting Andy Le because he's taller LMAO Well can you imagine taking Murray & Macklin off of Martinez's resume & replacing them with the smaller Pac & Floyd?! His resume would be insane & I don't see ONE person who could sanely protest that he should have fought Murray & Mack instead!

    OP's a butt-hurt ***!

I don't get what you're trying to say.

If someone goes from 147 to 180 in a matter of 3-4 weeks, then that's extremely indicative of natural size.

If a guy who was naturally 155-160, dropped to 147 - say like an Amir Khan, he would never go to 180 no matter how much he felt like eating or drinking in 3-4 weeks. It's physically damn near impossible to gain that much weight in such a short space of time if it's not your natural body weight.

brook's a very big weltwerweight. i'm sure he's over 160 on fight night. the fight is still an awful mismatch.
Absolutely. I'm trying to highlight that Brook has to weigh in at 157 or below the morning after, so they can't judge him on that weight. After fights he goes way up.

Much more indicative of natural body size and weight.

Total mismatch, no question. Was just gearing up for Brook vs Thurman.

How is it difficult to understand what I'm saying? Even fighting at your walking around weight, is more exhausting than fighting at say, (seeing as we have Amir for example). . . . Him fighting at 155, with the added mass, is harder work than him fighting at 147, even if he does walk around above 155.

Conor McGregor, walks around most likely at 170+, but fighting at 170, we saw how lethargic the added bulk (and I use the term added bulk in the fighting sense). Ofcourse he didn't added anything to his walking around bulk, but fighting at those "extra" pounds is worse for him than his usual limit.

I weigh 168-170 ish, but if I fought at 168, that would be more detrimental to my stamina than if I fought at 154.

That's the point of all of is.

So you're trying to say that fighting weight is different from natural weight. I get that we agree. Fighting at your walking around weight doesn't make sense. We agree again.

But some people diet waay too much so their fighting weight isn't their optimal fighting weight. I.e Brook's optimal fighting weight is probably somewhere between 152-156. Khan's is probably 145-148. That's because they are different size human beings.

Still waiting for people to post evidence that Brook weighs 160+ on fight night for his fights at WW. Anyone?

I think a lot of Golovkin fans don't like this fight. I think there have been a proliferation of threads on this matter because a few people defend it but I don't think it's the majority opinion that this fight is of equals.

Most fans want GGG to fight the best middleweights not this dude.
