It makes me proud to be where I'm from if that helps. His face is posted on numerous buildings here. The man is a legend that transcended the sport and made his city proud.

Ali is one of the greatest figures, sport or whatever, that this world will ever see. Diego, you don't know what you're talking about. That was a choice made due to his religious beliefs. If you think he wasn't serious about his religion, know this. Forget the war, just think about all the money he lost when they stripped his license and he didn't fight for 3 years. He could have done a little Joe Louis tour and put on boxing exhibitions far from any danger and made more money and been loved by everyone, but it was about his beliefs. That's why he refused to fight.

I could go on and on about Ali. He's the most interesting character in boxing, by far.

Hahaha, he didnt "skip" the war, man.
What really happened was the United States Army thought it would be a good idea for Ali to go overseas and inspire the troops. However, becaus Ali was anti-war, he refuesed. Thats what he was punished for.

Ali was great for boxing and sport overall. He was a true WORLD champion who travelled the globe and gave every contender a chance. A world figure and a sporting icon.
