Comparing the fight night weight of a man who weighed in at 147 to that of a man who weighed in at 160 is indeed irrelevant.
But I think even you would have to agree that a man who has to work very hard to hit 147 - like Kell Brook - is going to be significantly bigger and stronger on fight night if he hasn't had to work hard to cut weight for that fight.
No matter which way you spin it..... attempting to insinuate that there will not be a HUGE difference in size between a man who prepares for 147 and a man who prepares for 160, is stretching sensibility.
Also, it is highly questionable that any additional weight that Brook packs on will be efficient/effective..... just like Khan.
It can sometimes take years, or a number of fights, to truly acclimatize to a new division.Comment

I don't see the issue, these guys spar with heavier boxers in the gym all the time. And with the IBF rules, they can't come in more than 10 lbs over the set weight on Fight Night. This is the most fair scenario for this fight.
At least we know this fight won't end like the Khanelo fight did. it was pathetic and the only ppl that give Canelo credit for that KO, are casuals that didn't know Khan had a glass chin to begin with.
hahaha let it all out Eddie.
There is no difference whatsoever, get real.Comment

I'm guessing you have no idea what a training camp involves? Those 8 weeks, Brook will be hustling to build up his cardio for the fight. It's damn hard to put on any quality muscle when you're going all-in on stamina conditioning. The body just doesn't do both at the same time efficiently.
Khan had more than 3 months to both bulk and condition and a lot of people don't even think that was enough for him, and that was 1 weight class. Brook is jumping two.
I've heard several coaches say it often takes about a year and a half for a boxer to physically fully grow into a new weight class (which involves more than just eating more).

remember when Donaire first moved to 122 ?
he just couldn't keep those 4lb's on during campComment

Good example. Weight naturally comes off during training camp due to the nature of the training. Bulking is primarily an off-season thing. If Brook was about to fight at welter, no way is he properly bulked for MW, let alone a notoriously strong MW who starches everyone he fights at MW.Comment
