Yes, if Brook gets blitzed by GGG, he'll look like he was going for money and fame as a severe under dog, like Khan did vs Canelo. Golovkin loses either way. If he destroys Brook, critics will say he was supposed to do so against an under-sized opponent. But if he struggles or even loses, critics will have an even stronger argument that GGG is a hype job.
Exactly, why do you think this fight is getting so much hate?
1.) Brook is not an American, Americans pretend he is not the top WW, and pretend the same did not happen in the past, it is nothing like Amir moving up, Amir was not the top dog, he was a guy who got knocked out multiple times by small dudes, Khan had no belt and was not in the top 5 at 147.
2.) He is a totally different breed of a man and fighter than Floyd, a guy who calls himself the best ever, even though he barely took any risks.
3.) It basically is a repeat of what Ray Leonard did back then when he moved up to fight Hagler, boxing was bigger during the 80s and millions of millions watched it, so of course he was more known, but Ray just won his first 147lb title, then moved to MW to fight the most dangerous MW.
4.) Anti GGG Agenda + biased/racist boxing fans hate this fight.
5.) GGG would have gladly fought Saunders, Eubank, Jacobs or Canelo, but they all ducked the fight, Brook was the only guy who stepped up in time.
6.) Guys need to direct their hatred towards the guy who are ducking GGG, not the other way around!
7.) GGG wants to fight 3 times this year, thought Eubank would take the fight which is in 8 weeks time. Brook was the last resort.
8.) Brook is a goddamn warrior for doing what nobody else dares to do.
Leonard won his first ww title like 8 years before he fought hagler.
just signing for a fight is not greater than putting together an undefeated, all time great resume. that's crazy talk.
now, if brook, by some miracle, beats golovkin, he's got a better single win than anything floyd's got on his resume. but agian, that's not going to f#cking happen!
