UK media and fans should rip Golovkin apart for this "bout". Golovkin's resume is already underwhelming and now he's adding a career welterweight as an opponent? I guess we shouldn't be too surprised. Golovkin only said he wanted be fights, he never said anything about big opponents.

I expect the clinches as well, the one problem with that, even Murray a much bigger fighter was unable to clinch with Golovkin, he is very good at pulling his arms downward and getting away from the clinch and then he makes the clincher pay with brutal body shots and upper cuts. Not going to be effective with G.Props to Kel. We all thought he was full of s hit when he said if Khan will fight Canelo he'll one up him and fight GGG at 160. These fighters from the uk above 126 got some serious stones these days. It's some weird twilight zone stuff right now. I bet Kel clinches on some B Hop/Ward levels or more.. Maybe even Wlad vs Povetkin level lol
Honestly if the ref allows it and he holds up I don't dislike Kel's chances skill wise. This isnt like Khan Canelo where Canelo is also the significantly better talent lol. Kel is a stud imo and this is so weird I want to see it. He's soooo lean at 147 though. How will he look at 160 in just two months?
As for getting on his bicycle and running, G will cut the ring off and **** to the hips and body, which will stop Brook's movement within a few rounds. Kell will be a sitting duck on the ropes after that.Comment

I think when tempers have cooled off and the well of righteous indignation is empty, fans will sit down and see the match-up for what it is: a spectacle that isn't meant to be taken seriously. GGG is just another player in the business. He may truly want all the belts, but there are certain obstacles that will make it near impossible. Jacobs doesn't seem to want to face Mora next, but he is. Saunders runs his mouth, but we don't know who he's gonna fight and he's also banking on Canelo. Eubank has an big ego, but hasn't stepped up to world-level yet. Canelo went back down to face the weakest titlist in Smith. Lara is content to trash-talk from a division below while giving us less-than-ideal performances and opponents. Andrade essentially stated in his last interview that he doesn't want to fight Lara next. Then you have the second-tier MWs like Rosado/Heiland/Johnson/Stevens who are used as stay-busys for the top-tier. Of course GGG's reputation will suffer from facing a smaller opponent, but will there be any tangible consequences? The fight doesn't seem to be on HBO PPV, and the UK public will probably come out to support the event (a good under-card will help). I can't get too angry about the match-up because I'm gonna wind up watching it anyway. This match-up represents the symptoms that have been plaguing the MW division (and boxing in general) for a while now, and GGG's hype machine will be able to deflect most of the backlash. The other MWs and promoters are also doing a good job in fueling the machine because it could benefit them in the long run. If people are really that angry, don't talk/tweet or monetarily support it. The GGG/Brook announcement thread has almost 70 pages, which is absolutely ridiculous.UK media and fans should rip Golovkin apart for this "bout".
