Difference is obvious - Golovkin tried to fight Canelo, Saunders, Jacobs, Eubank before settling on Kell Brook. Canelo's first option was Amir Khan.

Neither is a good fight but the differences in circumstances should be obvious to everyone.

Actually, the vast majority of the reasonable Golovkin fans have agreed that this is a trash fight against a WW that we have to settle for.

Check Redd Foxx's poll. You'll see many prominent "Golovkin fanboys" agree that it's a crap fight that Golovkin had to settle for.

Not the same thing at all... Brook wasn't their first option. They were negotiating with Eubank Jr. for several weeks. The Eubank's got cold feet and wouldn't sign on the deadline, per Eddie Hearn, Brook was offered the deal and they accepted. Why would Golovkin turn down Brook and say no I'd rather fight the guy who has a 23-2-2 record and brings no money instead?

Brook accepted the deal, Golovkin signed off and here we are. Enjoy.

Canelo's situation wasn't the same because his goal was to get a Khan fight first. He didn't settle with Khan when things didn't go his way, he targeted Khan and got him.
