The same scrutiny? No not really, but scrutiny? Sure.

GGG was going after the biggest names he could as middleweight champion at middleweight, and they all pretty much ducked him. Canelo as middleweight champion did not do that.

Also I put current Brook above Pre-Canelo Kahn, so there is that as well.

Now that being said, this fight doesn't really do much in terms of building GGG in my opinion. May build his brand in Britain a bit but the fact that Brook is moving up two weight classes diminishes his 'name value' significantly in terms of GGG opponents.

As a golovkin fan i say yes . This fight is a horrible mismatch atleast when he faught middleweights and ko ing em you could say it was an even playing field but brooks means nothing.

No, atleast GGG didnt choose a glass jaw WW who has been ktfo multiple times. And brook is pretty big for a WW so theres that.

            No.

I've said it in other thread. Brook>Khan.
Undefeated. Proven at WW. No Ko losses at 135 or 140 like Khan. Big WW, not a blown up lightweight. Better chin.

It would be a fair fight at 154, not at 160. But still it's a better situation than Canelo vs Khan.

With the top Mw's hiding from GGG it's a cool move to get exposure and build a big name also in the UK. GGG is trying to fight the top MW's since 10 years ago (and all of them outweights him). So he's not a coward that chose a small guy to not fight a legit threat.

Still fight night weight will probably be closer between GGG and Brook than Canelo vs Khan. It's what matters. Guys don't punch theirselves at the weigh in. They punch at fight night weight.

exactly, brook will be so full of water on fight night, that makes perfect sense....

Hell yeah. More probably. At least Canelo had the decency of making it a catchweight fight.

I'm all about giving fair criticism and I'm already seeing ggg fans justifying this, the same guys who mocked Canelo for Kahn, the same guys who said Ward is way too big and needs to drain. Utter hypocrisy.
Couldn't get the 154 champ to come up so he goes after the 147 champ.
I'm actually fine with it as it's Brook's choice. But, these fkers who are showing double standards should be called out.
