  • Comments Thread For: Andre Ward Vows To Clean Out 175, Starting With Kovalev

Pound for pound sensation Andre Ward (29-0, 15KOs) is looking to clean up at Light-Heavyweight. The self-proclaimed Son of God' fights Alexander Brand before a super-fight with the big punching Sergey Kovalev that has been agreed for later this year.

Stevenson won't fight him so there's no way he can clean out the division. Chickenson is the Light heavyweight version of Wilder. Happy with just one belt. And second of all he won't be able to beat Kovalev anyway

Don't watch the fight then if you're so sure of that.
And don't believe what Kovalev said himself that Andre Ward will be his toughest challenge of his career.
And pay no attention to the odds when they have the fight close to even or Ward slightly favorite.
      Never mind all these facts.

That's true - if he beats Kovalev. If he gets knocked out by Kovalev, I think Stevenson WILL fight him.

Then why is Andre Ward fighting a 40 year old super middleweight journeyman named Alexander Brand?

Shouldn't he instead be facing a light heavyweight contender?

isn't the guy kovalev is fighting a no-hoper too?

they are just tune-ups. they are each other's best opponents.

              No, he's a contender.

Chilemba is Ring #7 at light heavyweight (not 168) and he's a DECADE YOUNGER than Brand at age 29.

And the only reason Kovalev is fighting him, is because prima donna Ward feels he's not ready yet.

I brought that up before, and how Kovalev is the world champ fighting a guy who is coming off a LOSS and people went ape shyt on me. The truth has few friends on NSB.

I like what Ward said about wanting it to be in Vegas (he's already put a sock in the mouth of all those whop said he wouldn't fight away from home). And, I think he was partially referring to Stepvenson when he said, "...it's not going to be easy to get them." That's a fight I've really wanted to see.

Name a single 175 contender that has called out or shown any in Andre Ward since he's come back.
