Multi-weight champs vs. Undisputed champs?

The undisputed champ who defends his title against the best fighters he can is the better more impressive fighter with the better accomplishment.With weight classes be as close together as 3 or pounds these days we have lots of multi weight champs. How many completely undisputed champs do we have who hold the WBA,WBC,WBO and IBF belts? The answer is none, zero, zip, nada! GGG is try hard to be the undisputed middleweight champ but he still needs the WBO belt and Saunders refuses to fight him.

So would you agree that Shane jumping up to WW from LW to beat Oscar was bigger than B-Hop beating Oscar for the 4th belt?

I think Shane's win is the more impressive win, but I think B-Hop collecting all the belts is a bigger overall accomplishment.

jumping from 135 to 147 is one of the hardest jumps in boxing

Many greats failed this jump...Ike will could compete with some of the best ww but never won the title. Beat Kid Gavilan I believe

Julio Cesar Chavez was one of the great ever at 130-140 but couldnt get anything done past 140

Corrales was a monster at 130 and 135 but got worked by wholly average Clottey....(i think corrales was past prime after the back to back losses though)

People mentioning Golovkin answer this. How can someone be undisputed if they aren't lineal? If they aren't lineal they've never fought the #1 or #2 guy in the division. I'd call that disputed.

Especially pacquio who moved through 8 divisons, but never unified a division.

Floyd was 1 title away from being undisputed at 147 just last year and nobody praised him for it.

its not that significant of an accomplishment when its expected i guess....not his fault he had no rivals

I never saw a fighter get criticized for winning like that guy did....he ruined lives man

And for the sake of the thread, lets say multi-division= 2-4 weight classes. I could think of a few current day multi division champs but the last undisputed (WBC/WBA/IBF/WBO) champ boxing had was B-Hop.

So with that said, in your honest opinion, in present day boxing, which should be respected more? & why??

Well it depends who the multi weight champion is fighting to win his belts. The likes of Loma, Broner, Guerrero et al aren't really special for being multi weight champs. I wouldn't think of them over guys with multiple belts in a division, say Kovalev, GGG, Fury etc.

Well there are some exceptions, but as a general rule, I see an undisputed champion as the top of the food chain. While being a multi division champion is impressive, you dont get bonus points for outgrowing a division and not disposing of the other champions in your weight class. Now if we are talking guys jumping to a weight class they are obviously too small for and facing a top notch champion, that is huge in my book.

What about pacquiao?

He jumped all those weights, but never unified any of those divisions.

Loma lost to Salido, his best opponents. Russell v Loma was for a vacant belt. After that murderers row, his best opponent is a shot Martinez lol

GGGs win are simply better, even if he hasn't exactly fought atgs but he has fought the best opposition his division can offer...barring those who turned him down of course.

It's just too easy for guys to move up in weight these days.
